The 1850 Union Staff and Field Officer sword is fitted with a blade crafted from 1055 high carbon steel. The blade is lavishly embossed on both sides with military regalia. The hilt is of brass and the grip is overlaid in leather and wrapped in twisted bands of brass.
The scabbard is of blued steel with brass fittings.
