German Sallets

Armor Venue is pleased to sell German Sallet Helmets. These helmets would make a magnificent addition to any collector’s display. They were used in the kingdoms of Europe around the 15th century. They were made from gauge steel and weighed in at about 10 lbs with a removable and adjustable padded lining and a chin strap to keep it secured. A lot of great detail was put into this design. Not only was it built to protect the head but the curve at the back was to protect the neck area. The front plate is attached with a brass screw so that you can open and close it with ease. This helmet was worn by heavy German infantry. Combined with the infantry armor, this can be used for display or reenactments.
