The German Pickelhaube Military Helmet was a staple worn by the Imperial German military in the 19th and 20th centuries. Its original design was by King Frederick William IV of Prussia and eventually spread its use to other armies. Featuring 20 gauge steel construction with brass edges, this fine reproduction comes with a removable spike and is highlighted by a period Prussian Coat of Arms with an eagle with its wings spread on top of a crown. The left talon holds a ceptor while the right talon holds a sovereign orb. Inscribed on a banner across the chest and wings are the words "Mit Gott Fur Koenig Und Vaterland (meaning "With God for King and Fatherland")" and on the breast is inscribed " FR Fridericus Rex" for "King Frederick". The head gear is further enhanced by an adjustable leather chin strap with a brass buckle and scales that is riveted to the sides of the piece. It is adorned with a brass clover with red, white and black plate behind it on both sides. This German helmet is a truly regal piece that is sure to stand out.
