The Roman Buch-Rheinau Helm is constructed from 18 gauge brass and fitted with hinged cheekplates with a pin close. The blackened interior of the helm is unlined; included with the helm is a padded cotton arming cap. This Buch Roman Helmet was the helm of roman cavalry through the 1st and 3rd centuries. Made of pure 18 gauge polished brass by Deepeeka, this is an authentic replica based off of historical research. The Buch Helmet was named for its finding place, the Roman auxiliary cavalry fort of Buch, which was on the Limes Germanicus or Germanic Frontier. These Roman front lines divided the Roman Empire and the Germanic tribes from 83AD to 260AD.
