Description
APOC Tactical Cutlass Sword designed by Gus Trim
Before the seven seals are torn away…
Leave nothing to Fate
This cutlass bears the hallmark of Gus Trim’s blade-making philosophy. The 21 1/2″ blade, coated in black oxide, displays a subtle taper along the back edge near the tip, enhancing both cutting dynamics and thrusting capability. A reinforcing fuller runs from the blade’s sweet spot down to the choil, a classic feature that lightens the blade without sacrificing strength,an unmistakable Atrim signature. With an overall length just shy of 30 inches and weighing under 2 pounds, this sword balances reach and maneuverability, making it well suited for close-quarters fighting, whether wielded one or two-handed.
The handle measures just over 8 inches, allowing younger or less experienced members of a group to wield it effectively. Its full tang construction is triple-riveted to G10 slabs, this synthetic material is prized for its durability and resistance to moisture, ensuring a secure grip even in wet or grimy conditions. The handle and blade junctions are smoothly finished to prevent blisters or cuts during extended use, a critical consideration in survival situations where infections can prove deadly. The guard’s double hooked design offers protection by keeping hands safely away from the blade’s edge during aggressive use or when sliding the hand forward.
Need a longer reach? Remove the handle scales and splice the tang into a sturdy pole, securing it with the tang’s lanyard holes. This modification transforms the cutlass into a formidable polearm, a weapon type revered by ancient warriors such as the Spartans for its extended range and versatility.
The accompanying scabbard is made from lightweight fiberglass with a black textured finish and is mounted on a MOLLE-compatible Kydex platform. This setup allows the cutlass to be securely attached to belts, packs, or vehicles in multiple carry positions, facilitating quick access. A notch in both the handle and platform permits stealthy unsheathing while ensuring the sword remains locked in place during vigorous movement or inverted carry.
When ammunition runs dry and shorter blades prove inadequate, a well-crafted cutlass like this becomes an essential tool for survival and defense in harsh environments.
