Description
APOC Survival Odachi designed by Gus Trim
Before the seven seals are torn away…
Whether facing plague, natural disasters, mass unrest, nuclear fallout, or even the collapse of civilization itself, these tactical swords are forged with a practical design focused on enduring harsh conditions and resisting corrosion in bleak times ahead.
The APOC Survival Odachi bears the unmistakable silhouette of a classic Japanese blade, yet its design carries the unique touch of Gus Trim. Known among his creations as the “Little Tigress,” this sword balances tradition with tactical innovation. The 11½-inch full tang handle is crafted from triple-riveted G10 slabs, a durable composite material that offers a secure grip without rough edges that could cause blisters or cuts during prolonged use,an essential feature when survival depends on steady hands and swift action. A hooked guard keeps fingers safely away from the blade edge, preventing accidents in the heat of combat.
The 30-inch blade is made from 9260 spring steel with a black oxide finish, known for toughness and resilience under stress. Its contour and edge geometry reflect a profile optimized for precise cuts and slicing efficiency. At 43 inches overall and weighing just under 3 pounds, this odachi is hefty enough to deliver powerful strikes capable of splitting bone, yet balanced to allow quick, controlled movements and a swift retreat if necessary.
The sword is paired with a lightweight, textured fiberglass sheath mounted on a MOLLE-compatible kydex platform, permitting versatile carry options on belts or packs. The sheath includes drainage holes for wet environments, and a notch system on both handle and platform allows for stealthy unsheathing and secure locking, even during inverted maneuvers. In scenarios where ammunition is depleted and close combat becomes unavoidable, this tactical odachi stands ready as a reliable companion.
