Description
This Early Crusader helm is essentially a Medieval pot helmet with a steel mask to give its bearer full face protection and helms of this type are in effect an early transition to the all-encompassing Great Helm, but this early mask helm can be paired with an coif to give the rest of the head chainmail protection whilst keeping the ears much less obstructed to sound than a full great helm. This helm is made from stoutly riveted plates of 14 gauge steel. The interior of the helm is blackened and the interior is lined with padded cotton suspension lining; it can be adjusted to best fit the head with a leather cord. The helm is completed with an adjustable leather chinstrap with a brass buckle to secure the helmet to the head.
