This reproduction reflects the practical design of WWII paratrooper trousers, built to withstand the demands placed on airborne troops. Introduced in 1942 and used through 1944, these trousers were constructed from a sturdy cotton blend, chosen to balance durability with comfort during jumps and close combat. The slash front pockets provided quick access to essentials, while the two rear pockets, secured with single buttons, kept belongings safe during movement. The double button-close cargo pockets were designed to offer extra storage without snagging on equipment, and the small pocket above the right front pocket was intended for a lighter or compass,tools essential for navigation and survival in the field. Canvas leg tie straps helped keep the trousers snug around the boots, preventing fabric from catching during descent. Around the waist, five buttons were sewn in to attach suspenders, distributing weight evenly and ensuring a secure fit. Reinforced knees added protection and resistance to wear, important for paratroopers who often faced rough landings and uneven terrain.
