Description
The Vikings surged from the north, their longships cutting through icy seas as they raided, traded, and settled across vast lands. Among their ranks, kings often took up arms themselves, leading warriors into battle with swords forged to match their status. This sword and its intricately crafted scabbard reflect the kind of weapon a Viking chieftain might carry into the fray. Each steel component is hand-forged, with careful attention to detail evident in the embossed leather of the scabbard, which is then adorned with silver plating to catch the light as it moves.
The blade itself is fashioned in the classic Viking style , broad and light with a pronounced fuller running along its length to lighten the weight without sacrificing strength. Made from 1095 high carbon steel, it is heat-treated to achieve a balance of hardness and flexibility, qualities essential for the swift, powerful strikes favored by Norse warriors. The scabbard is constructed from wood, wrapped in sturdy harness-grade leather embossed with traditional patterns, and trimmed in faux reindeer fur, a nod to the materials found in the Viking homelands. Metal fittings secure the scabbard and the accompanying baldric, combining function with artistry in a manner befitting a king’s weapon.
Sharpening and personalization with up to 3 initials are available for an additional fee.
Fun fact: Viking swords were often named and passed down through generations, believed to hold the spirit of their original owner, making each blade more than just a weapon but a legacy.
