Description
This necklace carries the name of Ragnar Lothbrok, a Viking chieftain whose deeds are woven deeply into the old sagas. Made from genuine horn, each bead is carefully shaped and smoothed by hand, then strung to form a sturdy cord of darkened horn beads. At its heart, two curved horns frame a flattened trapezoidal pendant, all polished to a soft sheen that catches the light much like the glint of a shield’s edge under the sun. The necklace fastens with an adjustable beaded cord, designed to sit comfortably around the neck, measuring about 36 inches at its fullest span. Such pieces were not mere decoration, they spoke of a man’s standing, his strength, and his bond with the natural world around him.
Note: Since this necklace is made from natural horn, each piece shows slight variations in color and tone, bearing the unique character of the material.
Fun fact: Viking horn necklaces were often worn as symbols of power and were believed to bring protection to warriors in battle, linking them to the fierce spirits of the animals they represented.
