The ravens carved here are shaped by hand from natural horn, reflecting the ancient tradition of honoring these mythic messengers. The mouth of the horn is reinforced with embossed brass trim, a technique Viking smiths employed not only to strengthen their wares but also to display their skill in metalwork.
