Description
When you lift this drinking horn, imagine Hugin and Munin, Odin’s faithful ravens, carrying your thoughts and tales to the All-Father himself. The ravens carved here are shaped by hand from natural horn, reflecting the ancient tradition of honoring these mythic messengers. The mouth of the horn is reinforced with embossed brass trim, a technique Viking smiths employed not only to strengthen their wares but also to display their skill in metalwork. Accompanied by a suede belt holster for carrying ease and a cloth bag to guard it during travels, this horn serves both practical and ceremonial purposes.
Please Note: Each horn is fashioned from a single piece of natural animal horn, meaning every one bears its own distinct shape, color, and grain,no two are the same. It’s important to thoroughly rinse the horn before its first use to cleanse it properly. Always hand wash after use to maintain the integrity of the horn and the brass fittings.
Slight delamination near the mouth is a common trait in natural horn items, caused by exposure to moisture and heat over time. This does not impair the horn’s function or reliability but reflects the organic nature of the material.
