Description
This Viking bearded axe takes its name from the distinctive extended lower portion of the blade, or “beard,” which was a clever design allowing for both slicing and hooking techniques in battle or daily tasks. The axe head here is crafted from titanium, a material far lighter and more corrosion-resistant than the iron or steel used by the Norse, and anodized through an electrolyte process that yields a range of striking colors. Both sides of the blade bear engraved motifs inspired by traditional Viking ornamentation, echoing the intertwined patterns and symbols often found on weapons and tools from the Viking Age. The handle is fashioned from sheesham heartwood, a dense and resilient timber, shaped and smoothed to fit comfortably in the hand and ensure a steady grip during use.
