This USMC Officer’s Holster is built to securely hold the standard 1911 style handgun, a sidearm long carried by Marines. Crafted from thick, top-grain leather, the holster features a warm satin finish that softens and molds with use. The waxed linen thread stitching stands up to the demands of active field service, ensuring the holster holds together through hard wear. Its design includes a leather leg thong to keep the holster steady during movement, along with 2-1/4″ wide belt loops and a belt hanger crafted to fit the web belts issued with Marine uniforms. Each holster bears the USMC insignia stamped into the leather and is made for either right or left hand draw, meeting the practical needs of officers in the field. This piece is fashioned using traditional methods by Windlass Steelcrafts, honoring the craftsmanship of military leatherwork.
Fun fact: The USMC 1911 Style Leather Holster was designed specifically for the M1911 pistol, which served as the official sidearm of the U.S. Marine Corps for over 70 years, from 1911 until it was replaced in the 1980s.
