The Collins Company of Connecticut made a name for themselves crafting machetes that soldiers and frontiersmen placed their trust in. This reproduction brings to life one of the machete models carried by American troops during the brutal Pacific campaign of World War II. Built to withstand the relentless challenges of jungle warfare, the blade is a sturdy full tang forged from 3/16″ thick high carbon steel. It’s been heat-treated just right to hold a keen edge while resisting the wear and tear of constant use. The handle scales are fashioned from close-grained hardwood, firmly pinned with four steel rivets to the tang, offering a dependable grip even when soaked with sweat or rain. Accompanying the blade is a top-grain leather sheath, designed to fit belts up to 2-3/4″ wide, matching the practical demands of soldiers on the move. This piece is brought to life by Windlass Steelcrafts®, who follow traditional smithing techniques to recreate historic edged weapons.
