Description
This Jerusalem Crusader tunic is made from white polyester, fashioned to resemble the surcoats worn by knights in the Crusades. The striking red velvet cross on the chest is the emblem of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, a symbol that identified these warriors both on the battlefield and in their sacred missions. The surcoat’s faux brown leather trim around the collar and shoulders echoes the practical reinforcements that would have shielded the wearer’s neck and upper arms from wear and tear. Its quartered design, with splits at the front, back, and sides, allowed knights the freedom to move easily, crucial for fighting on foot or horseback. Sizes S/M and L/XL roughly correspond to chest measurements under and over 40 to 42 inches, respectively. Pair this tunic with a hooded cape to complete the traditional Crusader’s outfit. Note that belt, gloves, shirt, boots, and sword are not included.
Fun Fact: The original Tunic of Jerusalem was often worn over a knight’s armor, serving both as a layer of protection and as a clear sign of their allegiance during the Crusades’ fierce conflicts.
