Among the jungle knives of Indonesia, this golok stands apart with its distinctive, curved blade and practical design. Traditionally, it is worn slung over one shoulder by a short thong, resting just beneath the arm for swift access. In the dense tropical forests, where thick vines must be cut, small trees felled, and wild animals confronted, a blade that is relatively short yet heavy toward the tip delivers powerful, controlled chopping, exactly what a hunter or woodsman needs.

Forged from high carbon steel, this blade offers a balance of strength and toughness, qualities that indigenous smiths valued highly when crafting tools meant for survival and daily labor. The handle is carved from dense, dark hardwood and intentionally left with a slight texture to ensure a steady grip, even when hands are slick with sweat or sap. A substantial oval-shaped brass guard provides balance to the forward-weighted blade and shields the hand during forceful strikes. The scabbard is constructed using traditional methods, glued and lashed together from wood,to hold the blade securely. At its top, a knob allows the sheath to be hung from a thong or slipped through a sash, reflecting centuries-old customs of carrying these blades either at the waist or across the back.
