A thick central ridge runs along the blade, lending it strength and rigidity, while the smooth, tapered point is designed for effective thrusting. The fuller,a shallow groove running down both sides of the blade,lightens the weapon without sacrificing durability, a technique mastered by medieval smiths to improve balance and handling. The blade features a factory edge for safety, but it can be sharpened by a skilled craftsman to restore the keen cutting edge typical of period swords. At its base, the blade measures a stout 2 inches wide and is 6mm thick, providing a solid cutting surface.
The steel-reinforced cross guard spans about 8 inches, offering vital protection for the wielder’s hand against opposing blades. The handle is wrapped in durable vinyl leather, mimicking the traditional leather bindings that gave grip and comfort during battle.
