Description
During the Second World War, the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) carried out covert missions that demanded equipment both reliable and suited to stealth. Among their gear was a distinctive sleeve dagger, designed for quick access and silent use. This longer version was made to clip securely onto a boot or belt, serving as a practical tool for operatives moving quietly through enemy lines.
The blade features the classic triangular cross-section, chosen for its ability to penetrate deeply and inflict disabling wounds. Its round, knurled grip provides a steady hold, even when wet or worn with gloves. To improve safety and handling, removable finger guards allow the user to adjust the grip to their preference. The increased length offers better reach and smoother drawing, especially useful in cold or rugged conditions where gloves were necessary. Forged from solid high carbon steel and treated with a zinc coating to resist rust, this dagger was built for endurance and practical use. It includes a leather sheath for secure carrying.
Key Measurements:
- Overall Length: 11-1/8″
- Blade Length: 5-1/2″
- Weight: 1.1 lbs
Fun Fact: Tactical boot daggers were favored because their triangular blades created wounds that were difficult to close, making them particularly effective in the close-quarters struggles common to clandestine operations.
