Sword of the Prophet

Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah is a towering figure in Islamic history, honored by Muslims as the Messenger and Prophet of God. Beyond his role as a spiritual leader, he was also a skilled military commander. His sword was far more than a mere weapon; it stood as a symbol of his authority and the deep respect his followers held for him. From his teachings to his personal effects, every detail was preserved with care to honor his legacy and pass it down through the generations. Remarkably, his sword has endured the passage of time.

The sacred relics once kept in the treasury of Alexandria, as well as those safeguarded by the Abbasid caliphs in Egypt, were eventually transferred to Istanbul. There, these treasures were housed in the sultan’s throne room, where the Holy Qur’an was recited beside them for over four centuries, underscoring their spiritual importance. The sword, positively identified as the original, now rests within the distinguished collection of the Topkapi Palace. For the first time, it has been carefully hand-reproduced.

This is the sword of the Prophet himself. Every feature has been recreated to reflect the original, including the velvet presentation bag embroidered with real 24K gold thread.

Measuring 100 cm in length, the sword features a wooden grip wrapped in black leather, providing a secure and comfortable hold. The crossguard and pommel are decorated with 24K gold floral motifs in low relief, reflecting the artistic style of the time. The scabbard is constructed from wood covered in leather, accented with 24K gold details and hand-embroidered straps. The blade is forged from high carbon steel, shaped by hand and finished with a nickel plating to protect the metal and highlight its form. Weighing about 2-1/4 pounds, the sword balances strength with grace. It comes with a custom velvet presentation bag, hand-crewelled with 24K gold thread, and is housed in a padded, velvet-lined genuine leather display case. This relic is a tangible piece of history to be honored and preserved through the ages.

** The original blade bore an inscription stating, “Muhammad is the Messenger of God – Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Muttalib.” Due to fading and wear over time, this inscription has not been replicated in the reproduction.
