Description
Spartacus, a Thracian warrior, steps forward to fight alongside the Roman Auxiliary against a shared foe threatening both Thrace and Rome. For defying the Roman commander Legatus Claudius Glaber, he faces death in the gladiatorial arena. Yet, against fierce odds, he defeats four gladiators and survives. His death sentence is changed to slavery, and he is purchased by Batiatus to be trained as a gladiator within his ludus. The promise of reuniting with his wife Sura helps temper his rebellious spirit.
This full metal helmet, inspired by the hit STARZ series Spartacus, features a moveable visor and a Roman fish crest,a design echoing the helmets worn by Roman soldiers to display rank and intimidate foes. The long horsehair tail, crafted from real hair, flows down the back, a traditional embellishment that served both decorative and practical purposes in battle. The horsehair plume helped to make the wearer appear taller and more imposing, while also aiding in identifying units on the field. The helmet bears an antique finish that recalls the wear of ancient warfare. Inside, an adjustable liner offers a custom fit to the wearer’s head. A certificate of authenticity accompanies the piece. Fun fact: The iconic Spartan warrior helmet, known as the Corinthian helmet, was designed to cover the entire head and neck, with slits for the eyes and mouth, providing excellent protection while allowing the wearer to see and breathe during battle.
