Description
Pauldrons, fastened to a breastplate or gorget, serve as essential protection for the shoulders and upper arms,areas frequently targeted in close combat. These pauldrons are forged from 18 gauge steel, carefully shaped and riveted to create articulated lames. This construction allows the wearer to move with a degree of flexibility while maintaining solid defense. Beneath the steel, a layer of paint provides a basic shield against rust, though like all carbon steel armor, the surface needs regular oiling to fend off moisture and corrosion. Strong leather straps, adjustable for a secure fit, attach the pauldrons to the breastplate or gorget (not included) and fasten the lower armguards snugly around the arms, ensuring the armor remains stable during the chaos of battle.

The articulated lames extend roughly 8″ below the center of the pauldrons, offering additional coverage to the upper arm.
