Description
This replica represents the standard bayonet issued to Russian infantry during the Second World War, designed specifically for use with the M1891/30 Mosin-Nagant rifle. The M1891/30 was an evolution of the original M1891, and its bayonet was similarly updated: the earlier locking-ring mechanism was replaced by a pressure stud, simplifying attachment and removal in the heat of battle.
The M1891/30 bayonet is built for thrusting rather than slashing. Its blade is quadrangular in cross-section, a design intended to drive deep, narrow wounds that disrupt vital organs quickly. Such a shape not only increases lethality but also creates wounds that are notoriously difficult to treat. Even today, with modern surgical tools, the sharp-edged, four-sided punctures pose significant challenges, imagine the hardship faced by WWII medics working with limited supplies and under fire.
Please Note: These bayonets are handcrafted, so slight variations in dimensions may occur. Fit on individual firearms is not guaranteed.
This replica M1891/30 Mosin-Nagant bayonet is forged from darkened steel and features a working pressure stud for secure attachment.
Fun fact: The M1891/30 bayonet was often nicknamed the “knife bayonet” by Soviet soldiers, and many kept it as a multipurpose tool long after the war ended.
