Description
This Medieval / Renaissance Round Rotella / Rodela shield is constructed from 18 gauge steel and is embellished with a brass sunburst and a ring of brass rivets and slashed edging. The central spike is threaded, allowing it to be removed as needed.
The back of the shield has a leather palm strap and an adjustable forearm strap with a nickel-plated buckle to fasten the shield to the forearm. A padded cotton canvas panel gives some cushioning to the arm. There is a noticeable raised bump in the center of the shield where the threaded housing for the center spike ends. It has been smoothed over to eliminate hard edges and this has left a raised bump in the center of the shield back.
