Description
Limited to 50 Units
The Javelina fixed blade knife is a solid example of a drop point design, carefully shaped to fit comfortably in the hand. The notched spine provides a secure place for the thumb, allowing for controlled, precise cuts. The blade features a rustic surface with a rough texture along the flat, contrasted by a polished, keen edge that speaks to its cutting capability.
Forged by hand from imported DNH7 steel, the blade undergoes differential hardening in the traditional Japanese manner. This method yields a hard, wear-resistant edge while keeping the spine and tang softer and more flexible, enhancing toughness. The blade’s full convex grind increases edge durability, making it well-suited for heavy use without chipping.
Accompanying the knife is a sheath crafted from full grain leather, designed to be worn on the belt. Because DNH7 is a high-carbon steel prone to rust if moisture is trapped, it’s advisable not to store the blade in the leather sheath for extended periods. Instead, a nylon pouch is provided for longer-term storage to protect the steel.
