Rondel daggers were a familiar companion both on the battlefield and within noble courts during the late Middle Ages. This particular piece, with its polished brass fittings shaped into a stylized floral motif, speaks more to ceremony and status than to the harsh realities of combat. The wooden grip, wrapped tightly with round leather cord, provides a secure grasp,essential for quick, precise use. Its blade, forged from tempered high carbon steel, balances strength and finesse: sturdy enough to pierce the gaps in plate armor, yet refined in form. The accompanying scabbard, designed for easy wear at the side, allowed the dagger to be carried discreetly. In noble circles, such daggers served as both a practical weapon and a mark of rank and refinement.
