Description

This sturdy leather belt, dyed a natural light brown, measures just over two inches wide,2-1/8″ to be exact, crafted to endure the rigors of daily wear. The brass buckle, paired with antiqued brass plates embossed with traditional motifs, is fastened securely by rivets that encircle most of the belt’s length. Two hanging rings are attached, designed to hold sidearms or tools much like the Roman soldiers used for their gladii and pugiones. Such belts were not just utilitarian but also a sign of rank and readiness on the battlefield.

The leather’s thickness and the solid brass fittings make this belt a fitting companion for a variety of swords, echoing the practical design favored by legionaries. This piece is offered in a Medium size, fitting waists between 32″ and 34″.

Fun fact: Roman military leather belts often featured hanging rings not only for carrying weapons but also for attaching pouches and tools, serving as an early example of modular gear systems used by soldiers.
