If you were a soldier in the Roman army, you would have most likely carried something like the Roman Legionary Shield. Legionaries were considered professional infantry men and enlisted for a term of 25 years. As they moved from place to place, they were always ready for battle with the right weapons and equipment. Modeled after traditional Roman shields, this piece is constructed from 18 gauge steel and has a beautiful hand-painted surface with a riveted boss. On the reverse side is a riveted steel bar grip fitted between two wood halves. With authentic design, this shield is perfect for costumes, re-enactments, and dusplay. 34 3/4” x 20” 11 lb 3 oz
