Description
This sword, belonging to Robert the Bruce, is forged from high carbon steel, carefully tempered to balance hardness and resilience, qualities essential for a blade meant to withstand the rigors of battle. The crossguard and ferrules are fashioned from sturdy steel, providing protection for the wielder’s hand while maintaining structural integrity. The grip is wrapped in black leather, tightly bound with twisted steel wire inlay, which not only enhances the sword’s grip but also offers a tactile connection between the warrior and his weapon. The steel pommel is shaped with the Cross of St. Andrew on both faces, symbolizing Scottish heritage and faith.
The scabbard is made from black leather, worn smooth from use, with an antiqued steel chape protecting the tip from damage. An integrated leather sword belt allows the wearer to carry the sword comfortably at their side. The throat of the scabbard bears a single-sided emblem of a rampant silver Scottish Lion, a proud symbol of Scotland’s strength and defiance.
Fun fact: It is believed that Robert the Bruce’s sword was never sheathed during battle, a testament to his fierce fighting spirit and readiness to defend his kingdom at a moment’s notice.
