Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, was a determined warrior and leader who stood shoulder to shoulder with William Wallace during the Wars of Scottish Independence. His resolve and command played a vital role in reclaiming Scotland’s sovereignty at a time when the kingdom’s future was uncertain. This blade represents the weight and significance of the man who might have wielded it, both in the heat of battle and in the halls of strategy.
Forged by skilled smiths, the blade is made from high carbon steel, prized for its balance between hardness and flexibility,qualities necessary for a weapon designed to withstand the rigors of combat and the test of time. The pommel carries the Cross of St. Andrew, a symbol deeply rooted in Scotland’s heritage, while the grip is wrapped in black leather to ensure a steady hold, reinforced with a silver chain that reflects a touch of noble craftsmanship without unnecessary adornment. The scabbard is fashioned from thick black leather, sturdy enough to shield the blade, and features the silver Lion of Scotland at the throat,a heraldic sign of courage and strength. A rounded metal chape protects the tip of the scabbard from wear, and the attached 1-1/2” wide belt, measuring 56-1/2″, allows the sword to be carried securely at the wearer’s side.
