New to the Shirasaya family, this sword follows the traditional Japanese style where the blade is housed in a plain wooden scabbard and handle, designed for storage and protection rather than combat display. The entire handle and scabbard are crafted from hardwood, finished with a smooth, high-gloss lacquer that highlights the natural grain,each piece bearing its own unique character. The blade, forged from 1060 high carbon steel, is hand-tempered to hold a keen edge straight from the forge, without the telltale marks of machine sharpening.
The blade is secured by a single mekugi pin through the full tang, a time-honored method ensuring the sword remains firmly assembled while allowing for easy disassembly for maintenance or inspection. The guard is made of stainless steel, offering basic protection while maintaining the minimalist aesthetic of the Shirasaya style. This sword comes with a black cotton carry bag and a wooden stand, honoring the tradition of proper care and respectful display.
