Our Hawksley Replica Black Powder Flasks are made to work just like the originals did back in the 19th century. Each flask replicates the design and markings found on genuine period pieces, using historically accurate stamps without any modern additions. The bright polished finish will, with regular handling, develop a natural patina much like an antique flask worn smooth from years in the field.
Crafted from hard-molded brown leather shaped into a scalloped shell pattern, this flask is built over a sturdy brass body. The brass Hawksley head includes a spring-loaded thumb release lever and an adjustable spout tip, giving the user fine control over the flow of powder. The authentic G. & J.W. Hawksley – Sheffield markings are stamped onto the brass, just as they were on flasks carried by hunters and marksmen of all social ranks throughout the 1800s.
