Description
This vibrantly red Viking tunic is crafted from cotton, a material that, while not as common as wool or linen in the Viking Age, provides a comfortable and breathable garment. The collar and sleeves feature decorative embroidery, a detail often seen in Viking clothing to denote status or regional identity. Such embroidery would have been done by hand, using wool or silk threads dyed with natural pigments. While this style of tunic is typical for the Viking Age, similar garments were worn across many Dark Age and Early Medieval cultures, where tunics served as everyday wear for both work and social occasions.
Please Note: Trim color and design may vary. The last photo is an example of the variation possible.
Please Note: The axe, belt and pants are not included and are shown in photo for display purposes only.
Fun Fact: The vibrant red dye used in Viking clothing was often derived from madder root or insects like kermes, making red garments a sign of wealth and standing among Norse warriors.
