Description
This powder horn is fashioned from genuine animal horn, carefully shaped and hollowed to securely hold black powder. The end cap and spout plug are carved by hand, each reflecting the unique grain of the horn and the marks left by the craftsman’s tools,no two horns are alike. A natural leather shoulder strap is attached, designed to be sturdy and practical for carrying during long days in the field.

In days of old, powder horns were indispensable to soldiers and hunters relying on black powder firearms. The horn’s natural resistance to sparks and moisture helped keep the powder dry and stable, crucial for reliable ignition. Often, the hollow horn was sealed with beeswax or resin to further protect the powder from dampness, long before the invention of modern cartridges.
