Description
These belts are forged from thick, top-grain leather about 1-7⁄8″ wide, built to bear the weight of sidearms and gear without yielding. The leather undergoes a tanning process that toughens it against the elements, then is shaped and hardened to hold form through hard use. Each belt fits waists up to 50″, fastened by a solid brass buckle and matching fittings, chosen for their strength and resistance to rust and wear. You may choose a deep brown leather belt bearing a US buckle or a black belt with a USMC buckle, both reflecting the styles worn by officers in the early 1900s. These belts are crafted following time-honored techniques that honor the traditions of armorers past.
Fun fact: The pistol belt in an officer’s style served not only as practical gear but also as a mark of rank, often polished and worn with dress uniforms during formal ceremonies as well as on campaign.
