Description
This pendant honors Odin’s ravens, Huginn and Muninn, who were believed to soar across the realms and bring back news and wisdom to the Allfather. The design shows a raven caught in mid-flight, its shape outlined by knotwork inspired by traditional Norse patterns, symbolizing the web of fate and the pursuit of knowledge. Forged from darkened fine pewter, the surface is polished to reveal subtle highlights that catch the light much like the sheen of a raven’s feathers. On the reverse side, runes are inscribed representing powerful concepts: wealth, strength, chaos, divine, journey, knowledge, gift, joy, each carrying weighty significance in Viking culture. The pendant hangs from a 32” silver chain fastened with a simple clasp, reflecting the straightforward yet reliable closures found on authentic Viking jewelry. It is presented in a small wooden box with a sliding lid, a nod to the practical craftsmanship prized in the Norse world.
Pendant measures: 2-3/4” x 1/2”.
Fun fact: In Norse tales, Huginn and Muninn’s names mean “thought” and “memory,” and Odin’s daily concern for their safe return highlights how essential knowledge and remembrance were to the Viking way of life.
