Description
This type of saber was carried by the mounted line officers in Napoleon?s Grande Arm?e. This reproduction has an unsharpened blade of tempered high carbon steel. The blade is engraved with unit patterns and the imperial crowned eagle. The hilt is of brass and the grip is of blackened wood. The scabbard is of brass with two brass hanging rings. Crossed cannons are emblazoned onto the scabbard – a common motif of Napoleon?s officer cadre.
