This miniature Horseman’s Sallet Helmet, cast in pewter, faithfully represents the distinctive shape favored by mounted warriors of the late medieval period. The sallet is recognized by its smooth, rounded skull and the extended tail that protects the neck,features designed to offer a careful balance of protection and visibility for horsemen on the move. Sized at 3-1/2″ by 3″, this model mirrors the compact form of the helmets worn across 15th-century European battlefields.
