The Medieval Gambeson (Large) dates back to a time where these defense jackets were worn for battle, but also as fashion statements. They had layers of material that kept bullets and other weapons from penetrating the flesh and were worn solo and with other armor on top. Featuring authentic design, this stylish reproduction is made from layers of soft cotton padding and wool between cottonlining and an outer shell and secures with a buckle and strap closure. This comfortable piece will offer superb protection under plate armor and will compliment your medieval ensemble nicely. Great for costumes and re-enactments.
