Description
The Sword of Malta carries the weight of history from the great siege where the Knights of St. John stood fast against a massive Ottoman fleet. This blade reflects the craftsmanship of its era, featuring a steel pommel deeply carved with the Cross of the Brotherhood,a symbol of their steadfast faith and a silent companion in moments of battle prayer. The solid steel crossguard is forged to provide dependable protection for the hand amid the rigors of combat.
The blade itself is hand-forged from high carbon steel, carefully balanced to deliver both a keen cut and a firm, precise thrust. Its length and taper are suited to a warrior skilled in offense and defense alike. The grip, fashioned from grooved wood and wrapped in stitched leather, is hand-rubbed to a rich, deep finish that enhances grip and durability with use.
The scabbard complements the sword with a custom wooden core covered in thick leather matching the grip, secured with steel fittings. Designed to hang at a rakish angle,a style favored by knights and soldiers, this allowed quick access whether on horseback or on foot.
