Description

This Falcata from Deepeeka is closely based on a historic Iberian original that is kept within the collection of the National Archeological Museum of Madrid in Spain. This reproduction of a particularly elaborate and embellished Falcata has a blued blade of tempered C60 high carbon steel (a steel with properties very similar to 1060 high carbon steel) – its forward swept recurve blade was purpose designed for powerful, helmet splitting chops and fearsome hacks and cuts. The blade is mounted into the hilt with a full tang construction that has two grip scales of polished bone which are riveted directly to the thick blade tang. The hilt is finished with highly detailed plates and a knuckle bar of antiqued brass.

The sword is paired with a scabbard of wood which is tightly bound in red leather and finished with a chape, banding and hanging rings of brass. The ring placement allow for the scabbard to be worn either at an angle or vertically to preference from a should baldric. (Baldric not included).
