This Falcata from Deepeeka is closely based on a historic Iberian original that is kept within the collection of the National Archeological Museum of Madrid in Spain. This reproduction of a particularly elaborate and embellished Falcata has a blued blade of tempered C60 high carbon steel (a steel with properties very similar to 1060 high carbon steel) its forward swept recurve blade was purpose designed for powerful, helmet splitting chops and fearsome hacks and cuts. The blade is mounted into the hilt with a full tang construction that has two grip scales of polished bone which are riveted directly to the thick blade tang. The hilt is finished with highly detailed plates and a knuckle bar of antiqued brass.
The sword is paired with a scabbard of wood which is tightly bound in red leather and finished with a chape, banding and hanging rings of brass. The ring placement allow for the scabbard to be worn either at an angle or vertically to preference from a should baldric. (Baldric not included).
