Description
This round shield draws inspiration from the Viking age, a common piece of a warrior’s kit. The handle is wrapped in suede over a firm rubber core, providing a steady grip to help control the shield during the clash of battle. The face displays a wood grain pattern, topped with a brass boss, just like the originals, which would have been hammered and riveted to deflect strikes and shield the hand from harm. The surface is coated with a flexible finish designed to withstand repeated impacts without cracking or warping, much like how a well-crafted shield must endure the harshness of combat.
Please note: This shield is made from latex, intended for live-action role play (LARP) and similar activities. It is not forged from metal and carries no cutting edge.
- Overall diameter: 18 inches
- Weight: Approximately 1 pound
Fun fact: Viking shields were often painted with bold colors and symbols not only for decoration but to intimidate foes on the battlefield. This latex shield carries that spirit into modern re-creation and play.
