Description
This dagger, dating from the Second World War, was issued as a sidearm to officers in the Italian military. Forged in the traditional manner, the blade is made from high carbon steel and hollow ground to achieve a sharp edge while maintaining a balanced weight for effective handling. The fittings are crafted from solid polished steel, providing durability and a striking contrast to the grip. The grip itself is fashioned from stained wood, carved with an axe motif,a symbol frequently found on Italian officer weapons, representing strength and martial valor. The dagger is paired with a metal scabbard designed to shield the blade from damage while allowing the wearer swift access when needed.

Fun fact: The Italian Officer’s Sidearm Dagger was often used not just as a weapon but as a practical tool for daily tasks, highlighting the resourcefulness expected of officers who were frequently on the move during wartime.
