Description
This Imperial Gallic ‘Face” helmet is copied from an original museum helmet that is now part of the Shelby/White Collection NY USA. This helm is an early Augustan period cavalry helmet that seems to be a hybrid of typical Gallic infantry helmet with eyebrow decoration, and a golden masked cavalry helmet. The mask is of the Kalkriese type, which fits beneath the cheek guards and is without integral ears. The brass face is attached with a hinge to a steel Gallic helmet and decorated with brass. The interior of the helmet is blackened and unlined and the mask is backed in leather for heightened comfort – included is a padded cotton arming cap which can be worn beneath the helmet to provide cushioning and comfort. Integrated rings on the cheekplates allow for a the cheekplates to be tied and fastened into position around the chin – a leather cord for this use is included. The original helmet is made entirely of cupric alloy. Made by Deepeeka, the quality of this helmet is unparalleled. You will not find another helmet like this!
