Description
The Weisenau Type Imperial Gallic B Roman Helmet is an excellent reproduction of one of the earliest iron helmets to be used by the Augustan legions in the late 1st century BC, the original being found at Nijmegen. Made out of 18 gauge steel and iron, this helm by Deepeeka has an authentic design based on a helmet discovered in a find in Klakanje, which was in Yugoslavia and now Croatia.
This Imperial Roman Gallic Helmet is constructed from 18 gauge steel. The cheekplates are hinged and the helmet is fitted with a central plume holder slot of brass. Brass edging and accoutrement embellish the helm. The blackened interior of the helmet is unlined and a padded cotton arming cap is included. Small rings on the bottom of the cheek plates are used to attach a chinstrap. Chinstrap not included.
