Description
Circa 1300
The Rondel Dagger was a trusted companion for knights and men-at-arms throughout the late medieval era, often seen carved into tomb effigies as a mark of a warrior’s preparedness for close combat. This piece features a full profile tang, a construction method that runs the blade’s steel through the handle, lending strength and balance to the weapon. The scales are fashioned from polished buffalo horn, which not only provides a secure grip but also warms naturally to the hand, making it comfortable to wield during prolonged use. The pommel is shaped like a mushroom, serving both to lock the handle firmly in place and to offer a recognizable silhouette at a glance. Forged from high carbon steel, the blade has been fully tempered to hold its edge against the rigors of battle, tapering to a sharp, narrow point ideal for slipping through the gaps in plate armor or chainmail. It comes paired with a sturdy leather scabbard, designed to protect the blade when not in use and to allow quick access when the moment calls for it.

Fun fact: The Rondel Dagger’s name comes from its circular guard and pommel, which were crafted to shield the hand during the rapid thrusts common in tight, armored combat.
