Description
Here lies a necklace crafted in homage to Freya, the Norse goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. Each component is carved by hand from genuine, natural horn,a material valued by our ancestors for its strength and the unique patterns woven into its grain. The necklace bears five geometric polygons, shaped from layered golden horn, their slight differences in hue and texture speaking to the living origin of the material. These forms are strung together with black horn beads, secured at the back with a screw fitting to ensure the necklace stays firmly in place. Measuring roughly 7 inches across with an opening near 20 inches, it is designed to sit comfortably upon the neck.
Note: As this necklace is fashioned from natural horn, each piece carries its own distinct color and tone, a testament to the individuality cherished in traditional handcrafting.
Fun fact: In the old Norse tales, Freya was closely linked to amber, a fossilized resin that shares the warm, golden glow seen in this horn necklace, both substances were held in high regard for their natural beauty and were thought to possess protective qualities.
