Description
These boot toppers, inspired by the Headless Horseman, rise to 29 inches and are fashioned from faux snakeskin leather, fashioned to slip over your boots much like the gaiters worn by the Hessian Horsemen. They are secured with nine buckle straps, each strap not only fastening the cover tightly but also lending a martial edge reminiscent of cavalry gear. The black base is trimmed in red, reflecting the striking color schemes favored by 18th-century mounted troops.

Fun fact: Hessian Horseman boot covers were originally designed to protect riders’ boots from mud and brush during long campaigns, but they also became a symbol of the mounted soldier’s status and style in the 18th century.
