Description

A truly distinctive blade, this sword tells a story of vengeance inspired by the Black Widow. Though the design departs from classical katana forms, it is crafted using time-honored forging and assembly methods that have been refined over centuries. The blade is forged from high carbon steel, expertly shaped and sharpened to a keen edge, ready for cutting straight from the forge. A blood groove, or “hi,” runs along the blade’s length, this feature lightens the sword without sacrificing strength, aiding its swift handling.

The handle is wrapped tightly in white nylon cord, mimicking traditional tsuka-ito wrapping, which provides a secure grip even in the heat of battle. Inside, the blade is firmly anchored with dual bamboo mekugi pegs, a technique dating back to feudal Japan that ensures the tang remains steadfastly seated within the wooden tsuka core. The full tang construction adds balance and durability, allowing the sword to withstand vigorous use.

Etched into the blade is the name “Black Widow,” lending a personal mark that blends modern flair with traditional artistry. The scabbard is crafted from sturdy hardwood, painted with two-tone designs that echo the web-weaver motif, and it comes accompanied by a black cotton bag for storage and transport.
