Description
All a knight desires is a taste of glory, and now even the youngest squire can step into the role without waiting for adulthood. Slip on this handmade haubergeon and grasp your wooden sword, your trusty steed is ready just beyond the door. Whether you dream of being Lancelot, King Arthur, or simply the finest armored warrior on the block, this chainmail will suit you well.
Crafted from 16 gauge mild steel rings, each 10mm in diameter, the haubergeon is assembled in the traditional 4-in-1 pattern. The rings are butted together, a method where the ends are tightly closed but not welded, reflecting the style common in many medieval armors designed for lighter duty or training. The zinc plating helps protect the steel from rust and wear, giving it a subtle sheen while maintaining durability.
Along with the shirt, a matching coif is included, fashioned from the same materials and pattern to shield the head and neck as knights of old would have done. The half-sleeve design allows for ease of movement while still offering protection to the upper arms.

Fun fact: In medieval times, young squires often trained wearing smaller-scale chainmail haubergets like this one, as it was lighter and allowed them to become accustomed to the weight and movement of armor before donning the full hauberk of a knight.
