Description
This blade is forged by hand using traditional Damascus steel techniques. The process involves folding and layering 1095 and 15N20 steels between 400 and 520 times, creating the distinctive flowing, wave-like patterns you see on the blade’s surface. This layered construction not only gives it a striking appearance but also combines hardness and flexibility, with a Rockwell Hardness rating of 58-60. The blade measures 17.75 inches long and is 3.65 millimeters thick, providing a sturdy yet balanced cutting edge.
The handle is carved from solid wood, stained in a deep pecan tone that brings out the natural grain, and is fitted with a handguard and pommel crafted from pure brass. These brass fittings offer both protection for the hand and a traditional aesthetic that complements the blade’s pattern. The handle length of 7.75 inches allows for a secure grip, making the sword practical as well as visually compelling. A hand-tooled genuine leather sheath accompanies the sword, designed to protect the blade and provide ease of carrying.
